Xanadu

This US$5-million dollar musical at the Helen Hayes Theatre is based on the 1980 film, Xanadu which starred Gene Kelly and Olivia Newton John. Based on a book by Douglas Carter Beane and with music and lyrics by John Farra

Follow the story of the Greek muse, Kira, as she descends to 1980s California on a quest to inspire Sonny, a struggling artist, to invent the greatest artistic movement of all time - the rollerdisco. Unfortunately for Kira, she falls in love with Sonny and when her jealous sisters find out, chaos reins.
