Christmas Tree & Neapolitan Baroque Creche

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan gears up for the festive season each year with the Christmas Tree & Neapolitan Baroque Creche, centred around a brilliantly-lit spruce in the Medieval Sculpture Hall.

Towering 20 feet tall, the stunning blue spruce for The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Christmas Tree & Neapolitan Baroque Creche has a different style each year. The vivid 18th-century Neapolitan crèche scene is embellished with a display of diminutive figures and hovering angels. Recorded music adds to the occasion, and in the evenings (except Monday) visitors can watch a lighting ceremony.
